Film form- meaning and response

Cinematography is the art and process of move photography. It includes the use of camera, lighting, angles, shot types- e.g. close up, and movement- e.g. zoom, pan, tracking shot.

Editing is art, technique and practise. It is also a reflection between shots, as well as cuts and fades.

Mis-en-scene is the arrangement of everything that appears in the framing- actors, lighting, costume,.. It is basically what is in the scene that helps us to get information from the film.

Sound is a part of the film and it can be used music, sound effect or spoken word. There are two types of sound, diegetic- that means that the sound is part of the story and characters can actually hear it, and non-diegetic- which is otherwise sound in background of the film that characters actually cannot hear and it is used just for audience.

Performance is made by actors on the scene. To that belongs character's gestures, voices and actions to show his desires and feeling and communication with other characters.
